Marriage/Civil Partnership
If you have married, or entered into a registered civil partnership, you should notify the Pensions Department.
We will need to see the original of your marriage/civil partnership certificate and your spouse/civil partner's birth certificate or passport. You can either post these documents to us or bring them to the Press, if this is more convenient. If you choose to post the documents to us we will return them promptly, using Royal Mail's Recorded Delivery service.
It is important that we see these documents as we will need to verify the marriage/civil partnership and the spouse/civil partner's date of birth before any death benefits can be paid from the Scheme.
You may also wish to update your Expression of Wish Form as a result of your marriage/civil partnership. Please see the Death Benefits after Retirement section for more information.
